Your Tasks
The Assistant Manager in the Maintenance Department will assist the Maintenance Manager in overseeing the maintenance operations of the organization. This role involves ensuring that all equipment, machinery, and facilities are maintained to the highest standards, minimizing downtime, and ensuring a safe working environment. The Assistant Manager will also be responsible for supervising maintenance staff, coordinating maintenance schedules, and implementing preventive maintenance programs. He will also be responsible to implement and drive new projects and activities related to sustainability.
Your Profile
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Leadership:
- Assist in supervising and leading the maintenance team, including technicians, electricians, and other maintenance staff.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Maintenance Operations:
- Oversee the day-to-day maintenance activities, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are functioning efficiently.
- Coordinate and schedule routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of equipment and reduce unexpected breakdowns.
- Must have knowledge of TPM methodologies.
- Should be able to operate and maintain equipment like, forklifts, cranes, chillers, blowers, EOT cranes, welding machines, welding robot, welding jigs and fixtures, air compressors, pumps etc.
- Should be able to develop, implement and adhere PM plans independently.
- Ensure 100% legal compliance.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, safety inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Assist in preparing and managing the maintenance department’s budget, including cost estimates for repairs, equipment, and supplies.
- Monitor and control expenses to ensure they are within the allocated budget.
- Source and procure necessary tools, equipment, and materials for maintenance activities.
- Project Management:
- Plan and oversee maintenance projects, including equipment upgrades, facility renovations, and new installations.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors to ensure timely and quality completion of projects.
- Monitor project progress, manage timelines, and ensure that projects are completed within budget.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance activities, equipment status, and project progress to the Maintenance Manager and senior management.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and address any issues or concerns.
- Maintain open and transparent communication with team members, providing updates and addressing any challenges.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Familiarity with maintenance management software and tools.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Safety Awareness: In-depth understanding of safety regulations and best practices in maintenance operations.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
