The India team plays a pivotal role in this transformation — supporting master data management (MDM) processes, ensuring high-quality technical data, and collaborating with international teams to maintain global standards.
Role Overview
As a Junior Master Data Management (MDM) Specialist in India, you will contribute to ensuring high-quality technical master data for heavy equipment. You will collaborate with designers, engineers, and international teams to validate, process, and maintain material workflows, bills of materials (BOM), and SAP master data.
Your role will focus on applying defined data standards, procced with engineering change processes, and continuously improving data quality while gaining hands-on experience in global MDM practices.
Responsibilities
- Ensure high-quality, cross-site technical master data (heavy equipment) by applying defined data standards, naming conventions, and validation rules.
- Review, validate, and process new-material workflows daily, ensuring consistency of bills of materials (BOM) prior to workflow approval.
- Define subsequent workflow steps and target plants independently, taking product- and process-specific requirements into account, and maintain workflow control data.
- Act as a key contact for designers and engineers, providing guidance and support on master-data processes.
- Process engineering change workflows from R&D, implementing required updates to material master data and BOMs in SAP.
- Continuously improve master-data quality, including identifying and removing duplicates in classifications.
- Verify alignment with plant standards and correct inaccurate or non-compliant designations.
Ihr Profil
Requirements
- Experience Range: 3 to 5 years in master data management or a comparable function.
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Business Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
- Practical knowledge and strong affinity with SAP systems.
- Exposure to material master data, BOM management, document info record, ECR (Engineering change record), and workflow processes.
- Strong communication skills in English; German language skills are an asset.
- Structured working style, high degree of personal responsibility, and openness to new tasks.
- Assertiveness and eagerness to grow into senior-level responsibilities.
Location & Travel
- Location: Bangalore (Hybrid) – 2 weeks from office & 2 weeks from home .
- Travel: Based on project requirements.
