Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Material & Production Planner with 12–15 years of hands-on experience in heavy fabrication, batching plant assembly, painting, and handling of complex fabrication parts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end planning of material procurement and production processes to ensure timely delivery, cost-efficiency, and quality compliance in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Material Planning:

• Plan and forecast material requirements based on production schedules, BOMs, and customer demand.

• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and bought-out components.

• Optimize inventory levels to minimize holding costs and avoid stockouts.

• Maintain accurate material master data and lead times in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).

Production Planning & Scheduling:

• Develop and manage production plans for heavy fabrication, assembly lines, paint booths, and sub-assemblies.

• Create daily/weekly/monthly production schedules to meet delivery targets.

• Monitor shop floor progress, identify bottlenecks, and reschedule as needed to ensure OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery.

• Work closely with shop floor supervisors, QA/QC, and dispatch teams for smooth workflow.

Fabrication & Assembly Coordination:

• Understand detailed fabrication drawings and coordinate complex weldments, sub-assemblies, and final assembly tasks.

• Plan for painting, blasting, and post-processing stages while maintaining quality and environmental standards.

• Ensure integration of fabricated parts with other mechanical and structural assemblies of batching plants.

Process Improvement & Reporting:

• Analyze production data and suggest improvements to reduce cycle time, material wastage, and cost.

• Support implementation of lean manufacturing practices (5S, Kaizen, Kanban).

• Prepare and present reports on production performance, delays, and material consumption.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.

• 12–15 years of relevant experience in heavy fabrication and batching plant or industrial equipment manufacturing.

• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).

• Strong knowledge of fabrication standards, paint and surface treatment processes, and assembly procedures.

• Excellent coordination, communication, and analytical skills.

• Exposure to ISO 9001 / 14001 / OHSAS standards preferred.
